Good cover, and an entertaining change of pace story in the Marv Wolfman, Gil Kane story in Action 551 (Jan. 84).

A columnist on a rival newspaper, the Metropolis Eagle, has written a piece against Superman.  This story follows the hero on an average day, while others discuss the slant of the piece.  The H.I.V.E. are there for one battle, but are not featured villains in the story.

Essentially, the plot is a hook on which a variety of globe-spanning adventures can be hung.  And Kane gets to make the most of it.

And in the end, the columnist loses his place in the paper.  People love their Superman.
